Who's Who at DBC
The deacons are responsible for the spiritual and practical leading, oversight and encouragement of the fellowship.
Rui lives in Lingfield with his wife Becky and their four children. Rui is a qualified accountant who works for a charity as their finance and IT director. He co-ordinates the various youth activities at DBC, and is also involved with the Urban Saints senior youth group. He is also our church secretary.
Stuart has lived in the Dormansland area, and been part of DBC, for most of his life. He is an electrician, is married and has two adult children. Stuart looks after the maintenance of the church buildings and grounds.
David is married to Diane and they have two daughters. They live in Dormansland and David is very much involved in DBC's work with young people, being one of the leaders of the Urban Saints junior youth group. David has a passion for the church's involvement in the community and is the church's treasurer.
Nigel has been connected to DBC most of his life. He is a Postie in the village and is married to Tracey. They have one son and are all involved in the church.
He heads up the catering in the church and has a heart for mission, both in the local community and worldwide. He also helps out at Urban Saints, when needed.
Designated Person for Safeguarding - Paul Lindsey
The minister and deacons will oversee and monitor implementation of the church's Safe-guarding policy and procedures with the help of the Designated Person.
DBC has appointed Paul Lindsey as the Designated Person for Safeguarding to:
(i) advise the church on any matters related to the safeguarding of children and young people; and
(ii) take the appropriate action when abuse is disclosed, discovered or suspected.
